Noori's dream is broken

Nouri, who had lost all four of his matches in January, was in a great mood this month and was looking to win the Mexico Open after winning eight matches in a row. Had he been successful in doing so, he could have become the first British player in 29-year history to win the title, but his dream was shattered by Nadal. After losing the first set in 51 minutes, Nouri made a comeback in the second set, but Nadal kept him away from victory. Nadal has won three titles this year.

In the men's doubles final, the pair of López and Tsitsipas defeated Marcelo and Julian 7-5, 6-4 to win the title. Tsitsipas was knocked out in the men's singles semi-final at the hands of Noori.
