Nomination and Notification Timeline
As per the comprehensive schedule submitted to the High Court, the official announcement of the elections will take place on September 23, 2026. Following this, the District Election Officers will issue the formal election notifications on September 28, 2026. Candidates interested in contesting the local body polls will have until October 1, 2026, to file their nomination papers. The scrutiny of these nomination papers is scheduled for October 3, 2026, to ensure all candidates meet the eligibility criteria. The final date for the withdrawal of nominations has been set for October 5, 2026. On the same day, the election symbols will be allocated to the contesting candidates, and the final list of candidates will be published by the authorities.
Four-Phase Voting for Zila Parishad and Panchayat Samiti
The elections for Zila Parishad and Panchayat Samiti members will be conducted in four phases to ensure smooth management and security. The first phase of voting is scheduled for October 13, 2026. This will be followed by the second phase on October 23, 2026, the third phase on October 29, 2026, and the fourth and final phase on November 3, 2026. On each of these polling days, the voting process will begin at 7 AM and conclude at 6 PM.
