DC vs RR / Rajasthan's second consecutive defeat - Delhi lost the match by 20 runs

DC vs RR: Delhi Capitals defeated Rajasthan Royals by 20 runs in the 56th match of the Indian Premier League-2024. With this the team equalized the loss suffered in the previous match. Not only this, the Capitals have also extended the wait for the Royals to reach the playoffs. RR still needs one more win to reach the playoffs.

Delhi lost the toss on home ground and batted first and scored 221 runs for 7 wickets in 20 overs. In reply, Rajasthan could score only 201 runs for 8 wickets in 20 overs. Khalil Ahmed, Mukesh Kumar and Kuldeep Yadav took two wickets each. Sanju Samson from RR played an inning of 86 runs on 46 balls. Riyan Parag scored 27 runs and Shivam Dubey scored 25 runs.

DC openers Jack Fraser-Magarch (50 runs) and Abhishek Porel (65 runs) scored half-centuries. Tristan Stubbs scored 41 runs. Racichandran Ashwin took 3 wickets from Rajasthan. Yuzvendra Chahal, Sandeep Sharma and Trent Boult got one wicket each.

Delhi has set a target of 222 runs for Rajasthan. Delhi team scored 221 runs after losing eight wickets in 20 overs. Jake Fraser McGurk scored 50 runs in 20 balls with the help of seven fours and three sixes and Abhishek Porel scored 65 runs in 36 balls with the help of seven fours and three sixes. Apart from this, Shai Hope was out after scoring one run, Axar Patel after scoring 15 runs and captain Rishabh Pant after scoring 15 runs. Gulbadin Naib, playing his first IPL match, scored 19 runs. At the same time, Tristan Stubbs played an inning of 41 runs in 20 balls with the help of three fours and three sixes. Rasikh Dar Salaam scored nine runs in three balls and Kuldeep Yadav scored unbeaten five runs in two balls. Rasikh was run out on the last ball of the innings. Ashwin took maximum three wickets for Rajasthan. Whereas, Trent Boult, Sandeep Sharma and Chahal got one wicket each.
