RAS Officer Balwant Singh Ligri Suspended Following Corruption Allegations And JDA Land Dispute

Sources within the Secretariat indicate that the relationship between the minister and the officer had become extremely bitter. The situation escalated to a point where Minister Khinvsar personally wrote a letter to the Chief Minister, requesting the immediate removal of Ligri from his office. Following this formal complaint and the visible displeasure of the minister, Ligri was transferred from the OSD position and appointed as the Executive Director at the Rajasthan State Beverage Corporation.

The JDA Tenure and Land Allotment Controversy

The primary reason behind the current suspension appears to be rooted in Ligri's previous tenure at the Jaipur Development Authority (JDA), while during his career, he has held several key positions, including serving as the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) in important blocks such as Khetri, Sikrai, Tijara, Asind, and Neemrana. He also served as the Deputy Commissioner in various zones of the JDA, while it's this period at the JDA that has now become a major hurdle for him.
