Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi: A reward of Rs 5 lakh each was announced on Thursday for the killers of Shri Rashtriya Rajput Karni Sena President Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi. Apart from Rajasthan, police teams are also conducting raids in other states to arrest the two absconding accused, Rohit Singh Rathore and Nitin Fauji. The Home Department has written a letter to the NIA demanding that the Gogamedi murder case be investigated by the NIA.

On the other hand, the last rites of Sukhdev Singh took place at Gogamedi village of Hanumangarh at around 5:30 pm. Earlier, the postmortem of the body was conducted by the Medical Board at SMS Hospital late on Wednesday night. After this, the people of the society paid their last respects at Rajput Sabha Bhawan this morning. From here the tribute procession left for the ancestral village Gogamedi.

The yatra reached Gogamedi at around 4 pm via Bhavani Niketan College, Chaumun, Ringas, Sikar, Laxmangarh, Fatehpur, Churu, Taranagar, Sahwa, Bhadra. Flowers were showered at various places on the way. The mortal remains were kept in Gogamedi village for last darshan. Here, Alwar and Hanumangarh cities remained closed in protest against the murder.

Policemen were deployed at every nook and corner from Bhadra to Gogamedi. Here, people had started gathering in Dhani 9 DPN of Gogamedi since morning. Police force was deployed here also.

When Parthiv's body reached his village in the evening, slogans of 'Dada Amar Rahe' were raised. After the last darshan, his three cousins lit the funeral pyre. During this time a large number of his supporters were present.

Earlier, 11-point demands were agreed upon in the Gogamedi murder case. After the recommendation to hand over the investigation to NIA, the family members were ready to conduct the postmortem. Two FIRs were lodged in the case. Gogamedi's wife Sheela Shekhawat has filed a murder case.

Also alleged that the husband had asked for police protection thrice from the CM and DGP, but it was not given. Shyam Nagar SHO Manish Gupta, beat in-charge and beat constable were suspended in the case. The second FIR has been lodged by the scooter rider.

On Wednesday, Karni Sena had called for Rajasthan bandh in protest against the murder of Gogamedi, the effect of which was seen across the state. During the bandh, protesters vandalized many areas. There was vandalism in Gopalpura, Triveni Nagar and Mansarovar in Jaipur. Tires were burnt at many intersections. Trains were stopped at many places.

Agreement was reached in three rounds of talks

The Sangharsh Committee formed after the massacre had talks with the administration and police thrice in 8 hours. The first talks started on Wednesday at around 2.30 pm. Rajput community officials and Police Commissioner Biju George Joseph and Additional Commissioner Kunwar Rashtradeep and other officials attended the meeting.

In the first talks, the officials had put forward about two dozen demands. After that the Commissioner talked to the Secretariat level officials and another meeting was called. But, it failed due to lack of consensus on some demands. After that, after talking to the officials again, a third meeting was called late in the evening, in which 11-point demands including sending the investigation to NIA were agreed upon.

After some time, Gogamedi's wife Sheela Shekhawat refused to accept the demands. She said – the movement will continue until there is no encounter with the shooters. After that the police administration came into action. Counseled for about an hour. After talking to some other officials, the matter was calmed down and they agreed to get the postmortem done on the body. Regarding the matter, DGP Umesh Mishra constituted SIT under the leadership of Additional Commissioner Kailash Bishnoi. Most of the officers in the team are from Anandpal encounter. A reward of Rs 5 lakh has been placed on the killers.

Agree on these demands

The police will soon arrest both the murderers. Action will also be taken against gangsters Lawrence Vishnoi, Rohit Godara and others involved in the criminal conspiracy.
