Cricket Desk: Rohit Sharma rolled his arm over in the first Test against England at Chennai and was involved in a funny moment that would have surely made the players and the fans laugh. For, the ‘Hitman’ tried to imitate his former Indian team mate and bowling legend Harbhajan Singh, and to give him due credit, he was pretty accurate in doing do.

Rohit started his run-up in trademark ‘Bhajji’ style, flexed his arms wide, and his impersonation of Harbhajan was spot on. And for the record, Rohit Sharma bowled just 2 overs in the England innings and gave away 7 runs. Well, it would have given the Indian players something to cheer about in what has been a long and tiring day for the hosts on the field.

England pile on the misery on the hosts

The England batsmen continued to frustrate the Indian bowlers, and are on their way to a massive first innings total. Joe Root is possibly going through the best period of his life. The England batting legend became the first player ever, to score a double century in his 100th Test match. In fact, in the 3 matches that he has played in 2021, Root has scored 644 runs from 5 innings.

He has now scored 3 centuries in his first 3 Tests of 2021, and two of them have been double hundreds. Root’s masterly 218 allowed England to completely dominate the Indian bowlers on the first and second days of the match. He was supported by Dom Sibley and Ben Stokes, who scored 87 and 82 respectively.

As far as the Indian bowlers are concerned, Shahbaz Nadeem, Jasprit Bumrah, and Ravichandran Ashwin have picked up 2 wickets each. India surely have a mountain to climb, when their batsmen get their willows out in the first innings, as England look all set to pile up a massive total in the first innings.

Meanwhile, moments like Rohit Sharma trying to imitate Harbhajan Singh provided some light-hearted moments for everybody to relish. Harbhajan is a legend of Indian cricket and is the third-highest wicket-taker for his country in the whites. He featured in 103 Tests for India and took 417 wickets at an average of 32.46.
