IPL 2021 / RR beat KKR by 6 wickets, Rajasthan beat Kolkata for the third time in the last 9 matches

In the 18th match of the IPL 2021 season, Rajasthan Royals (RR) defeated Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) by 6 wickets. Batting first after losing the toss, the Kolkata team scored 133 runs losing 9 wickets in 20 overs. In response, the Rajasthan team won the match by scoring 134 runs for 4 wickets in 18.5 overs. Captain Sanju Samson played the most unbeaten innings of 42 runs for RR.


This is Rajasthan team's third win over KKR in the last 9 matches. Kolkata had defeated them in the remaining 6 matches. This is RR's second win in 5 matches this season. At the same time, this is KKR's fourth consecutive defeat in 5 matches. The team rolled to the bottom of the points table at number 8.


Earlier, Rajasthan fast bowlers, Chris Morris, Chetan Sakaria, Jaydev Unadkat and Mustafizur Rahman kept KKR on a low score by bowling tightly. Morris got 4 and the remaining three got 1–1 wickets. Rahul Tripathi scored the highest 36 runs for Kolkata. At the same time, Samson played match-winning innings for RR. Varun Chakraborty took 2 wickets from KKR.
