RSS In Kerala: The establishment of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) branches in the temples of Kerala has now been banned. The Travancore Devaswom Board, the governing body of the temples there, issued a circular ordering that only religious rituals should be held in the temples. After the circular of the Devaswom Board, the politics there has heated up. Kerala BJP leaders termed it as the Jihadi agenda of the Left and the Congress. It is alleged that this is a conspiracy to occupy the temples.

Political activity or shakha not allowed – Devaswom Board

The Travancore Devaswom Board, which handles the management of temples in Kerala, has issued a circular for all the temples. It has been said in it that only religious rituals should be performed in the temples. No political activity or RSS shakha should be allowed. It has also been said in the circular that strict action will be taken against the officers who do not follow the order. The Travancore Devaswom Board has also asked the officials to take steps to ban such activities and report to the headquarters. According to the circular, even after this, if such events are held in temples, then common people can also complain to the board.

BJP opposes circular of Devaswom Board

The politics of Kerala has heated up on the circular of the Travancore Devaswom Board. The BJP has raised questions on the board's order. According to the BJP, the Devaswom Board only has to see the management of the temples. He is not the owner of the temple or its property. The owner of the property of the temple is God. BJP said, “The Devaswom Board is not the owner of the property of the temple, it only looks after the management, it is not the owner. The deities of the temple are legally minors but it is their property. You cannot say that you are the property owner, legally it cannot be so. If you are their guardian then it is your responsibility to take decisions in their best interest. You are not the master.

According to BJP leaders, the Travancore Devaswom Board's circular is part of an agenda that has been going on in the state for a long time. He alleges that Jihadi groups are behind this agenda, on whose behest the Left parties and the Congress are playing games. BJP leader Krishna Kumar said, “This is the old agenda of the Jihadi group. He always tries to use the Communist Party. Now Communist Party is in rule and Jihadi group is controlling them. The RSS has always been protecting temples from these elements. What happened in Sabarimala? The government-backed program implemented there was not an issue of women entering the temple. In fact, Jihadis want to capture all the temples in Kerala.

Several social organizations in Kerala are also opposing the board's order. He says that the Sangh is not a political organization but it is only associated with cultural activities.

CPM leader is the chairman of the board

The Travancore Devaswom Board actually oversees the management of 1,248 temples in Kerala. All the rituals of the famous Sabarimala temple are also conducted under the direction of this board. Now senior CPM leader K. Ananthagopan is its chairman, so questions are being raised on the board's decision. There can be an uproar in Kerala on this issue further.
