Taking to the social media platform X, the Prime Minister extended his gratitude to the people of Thiruvananthapuram, describing the mandate as a significant and historic moment in the political landscape of Kerala, while this triumph comes after the counting of votes for the local body elections, where the NDA showcased a solid performance.

In his post, Prime Minister Modi stated, "Thank you Thiruvananthapuram, while the mandate received by BJP-NDA in Thiruvananthapuram Municipal Corporation is a historic moment in Kerala politics. " He emphasized that the public has full faith that only the NDA can fulfill the development aspirations of the state. PM Modi further assured that his party would work with commitment towards the development of this vibrant city and improving the living standards of its people, while this statement underscores the importance of this victory for the NDA, marking a crucial step in its efforts to establish a stronger political foothold in Kerala.

Thiruvananthapuram Municipal Corporation Results

The NDA achieved a significant success in the Thiruvananthapuram Municipal Corporation by securing a total of 50 seats. In contrast, the LDF won 29 seats, the UDF secured 19 seats, and other parties managed to win two seats. The majority mark for victory in the 101-ward Thiruvananthapuram Municipal Corporation stands at 52. The BJP had been aiming to gain power in the urban body of Kerala's capital for the past 10 years. Although the NDA fell two seats short of the absolute majority, this result represents a substantial achievement for the alliance and indicates its growing presence in Kerala. This outcome could also signal a shift in the state's political dynamics.
