Sports Desk: After sparking Chennai Super Kings' (CSK) resurgence in the 14th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL), legendary cricketer MS Dhoni turned the clock back and stamped his authority against Rishabh Pant-led Delhi Capitals (DC) on Sunday. The talismanic batsman of the Chennai-based franchise produced a nostalgic knock in Qualifier 1 of the ongoing IPL 2021 between former champions CSK and last year's runners-up DC at the Dubai International Stadium. 

Making a mockery of the run chase in the death-overs, ageless Dhoni played a small cameo to secure Chennai's berth in the final of this season's IPL. Dhoni's wife Sakshi and daughter Ziva were seen celebrating Chennai's thrilling win from the stands in Dubai.

MSD's emotional wife gave daughter Ziva a bear hug after the CSK skipper finished things off in style. Chennai's impressive win was a moment to cherish for the Dhoni family. The viral video soon became the talk of the town on the internet.

Regarded as the greatest finisher in domestic cricket's biggest extravaganza, Dhoni once again guided CSK to the final of the IPL 2021. With CSK needing 13 off the final over, Thala Dhoni lived up to expectations by completing Chennai's run chase as the three-time champions managed to book their ticket for the summit clash. The 40-year-old remained unbeaten on 18 off just 6 balls to make sure Chennai scale the 173-run target with two balls to spare at Dubai. 

Dhoni's quick-fire knock has propelled the Chennai Super Kings franchise to their ninth final in the IPL. While Dhoni provided the late flourish to CSK's title bid in the first Qualifier, IPL veteran Robin Uthappa returned back to scoring ways and played a match-changing knock of 63 off 44 balls. The former Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) star was equally supported by opener Ruturaj Gaikwad, who continued his sublime run in the 14th edition of the cash-rich league.

Gaikwad was adjudged the Man of the Match for his 70 off 50 balls against Pant-led Delhi Capitals. Dhoni-led CSK will take on the winner of the second Qualifier in the final of the IPL 2021. The summit clash of this season's IPL will be contested at the Dubai International Stadium on Friday.
