Rajasthan Royals bid on Donavon Ferreira, who came at a base price of 20 lakhs, and seeing his performance in the South Africa T20 League, it seems that Sanju Samson's team has got another deadly player. Talking about this match, while batting, Ferreira scored an unbeaten 82 off 40 balls which included 8 fours and 5 sixes. Then showing his strength in bowling too, he took 1 wicket for 28 runs in 4 overs and that wicket was of set batsman Quinton de Kock.

Ferreira took over after a bad start

In this match, the team of Johannesburg Super Kings, who came out to bat first, scored 190 runs for 6 wickets. The team had a very bad start and four players returned to the pavilion for just 27 runs. From here, captain Faf du Plessis handled the innings with Donavon Ferreira and shared a 72-run partnership. Faf scored 39 off 33 balls and was followed by Romario Shepherd who hit a blistering 40 off 20 balls to take the score to 190. Ferreira and Shepherd shared a flamboyant 87-run partnership for the sixth wicket. After this the Super Kings bowlers did wonders.

Supergiants team collapses after a good start

Unlike the Super Kings, Kyle Myers and Quinton de Kock got the Durban Super Giants off to a good start while chasing a target of 191 runs. Myers was dismissed for 39 after a first wicket partnership of 98 runs. Quinton de Kock scored an innings of 78 runs in 52 balls and his crucial wicket came from right arm off break bowler Donavon Ferreira, the hero of the match. From here the innings of the Super Giants faltered and the team which was heading towards victory easily lost the match by 16 runs. Earlier, in the inaugural match on Tuesday night, MI Cape Town defeated Paarl Royals by 8 wickets.
