KK and Shankar's friendship was very old

Shankar Mahadevan said, 'We were together for a long time even before we came together in films, we were friends, like a gang. We used to sing jingles together and that slowly brought us to the movies. One of the earliest films we did was Dil Chahta Hai which had a very special song by doing 'Koi Kahe'. It was a very special song that we sang together.

Social media didn't matter

Shankar Mahadevan, remembering his friend who passed away, said, 'He used to talk about his family, go on long vacations, completely cut off from the world, he was not bothered by social media etc. Even he was not on WhatsApp. If you wanted to talk to him, you had to call him directly. He was not bothered about how many likes his songs were getting.

KK was just picky about this thing

What surprises everyone about KK is that despite being a complete artist, he didn't get many awards in his life. Shankar Mahadevan said about this that he did not care about all these things. Shankar Mahadevan said, 'He was not bothered by all these things. He just enjoyed whatever he did. Yes, but he was very picky about his concerts, and wouldn't turn up when anyone called.'
