BGMI Banned In India: The hearts of crores of gamers of the country are going to be broken once again. PUBG Mobile's local variant BGMI game may once again be banned in India. According to the news coming out, the government may soon issue an order to remove this game from Google Play Store and Apple App Store. The ban on this battle royale game of Krafton was lifted last year. After lifting the ban, the central government had asked to monitor this game for 90 days. However, this game may be banned once again.

Possibility of misuse of data

This battle royale game of PUBG Mobile maker Krafton was launched in June 2021. After this this game was banned in 2022. The company making this game has been accused of misusing the data of Indian users. According to the report of News18, the cyber security team of the Government of India has instructed Krafton to shut down this game.

There can be many reasons for banning BGMI, the first and main reason being the misuse of Indian users' data by Krafton. Security researchers believe that this game can lead to cyber attacks on India by misusing users' data. BGMI's data is likely to be stored in American servers. Also, there is a possibility of sharing the data with Chinese servers also.

10 crore daily gamers

Earlier also BGMI was banned due to security reasons and violation of IT Act 69A. According to the report, officials of game developer Krafton are going to hold a meeting with government agency officials next week. According to the recent FICCI-EY report, there are a total of 450 million i.e. 45 crore gamers in India, out of which 100 million i.e. 10 crore gamers play mobile games daily. The closure of this battle royale game can also have a big impact on the gaming industry.

Free Fire is also banned

Another popular battle royale game Free Fire is banned in India. However, Indian gamers are able to play its Max version. Garena, the Free Fire game maker, had announced last year to launch the Indian version of the game Free Fire India in August 2023, but till now this game has not been launched. The company had announced to extend the game launch date by a few weeks. Since then, no update regarding the game has been released by Garena India.
