Rampur By Election Result: BJP has won a landslide victory in the by-elections for two Lok Sabha seats of Uttar Pradesh, Azamgarh and Rampur. On the one hand, he has won Dinesh Lal Yadav alias Nirhua in Azamgarh, a stronghold of the Samajwadi Party, while on the other hand, he has also won a historic victory in Rampur, which is called Azam's stronghold. This is the fourth time the BJP has won the Rampur Lok Sabha seat. SP candidate Mohammad Asim Raza, who is supporting Azam Khan, got only around 3 lakh 25 thousand votes, while BJP candidate Ghanshyam Lodhi got 3 lakh 67 thousand votes and won by about 42 thousand votes. Ghanshyam Lodhi was once close to Azam Khan.

Azam lost prestige in Rampur, BJP's Lodhi won by 42 thousand votes

Transfer of BSP votes is also believed to be behind BJP's victory in Rampur Lok Sabha seat. In 2019, SP and BSP contested elections together and this seat went to SP's account. But before that in 2014, the late BJP leader Dr. Nepal Singh had won. Then it was said that BSP and Congress had also fielded Muslim candidates and due to this SP lost. This time BSP and Congress did not field candidates. Even after this, the SP candidate had to face a crushing defeat, while Azam Khan himself was campaigning even after illness.

BSP's elephant turned towards BJP

In such a situation, this time due to the absence of Congress and BSP, these votes had to be divided between SP and BJP. It is clear that Ghanshyam Lodhi got a part of Congress votes due to Nawab's support to BJP. Apart from this, Dalit voters of BSP have also preferred BJP. In this way, the elephant of BSP has probably sat on the side of the BJP and the Nawab was openly with the BJP. In such a situation, the overconfidence of SP has been exposed in this election, while on the other hand it has also given a setback to Azam Khan, who himself had come in the campaign.

BJP's victory significant in the presence of Azam Khan

Talking about the BJP, it is a big success for it to win Rampur in the presence of Azam Khan. The loss of Rampur in the two assembly seats where Azam Khan and his son Abdullah Azam had won even while in jail is a big disgrace for the SP. After this by-election, questions can also be raised on the strategy of SP chief Akhilesh Yadav, who did not go to campaign in any of Azamgarh and Rampur seats. In such a situation, in the coming days, he can once again come under target inside and outside the party.
