Vande Bharat Express / Stones pelted again on Vande Bharat Express in Bengal, case registered against unknown, Railways took steps

Vande Bharat Express: The incident of stone pelting came to light for the second consecutive day on the Vande Bharat Express, which started a few days back in West Bengal. Stones were pelted on Vande Bharat near New Jalpaiguri on Tuesday. Railway has started investigation regarding the incident. In a statement issued by the Indian Railways, it has been said that a case has been registered against the unknown under section 154 of the Railway Act.

The CPRO of Eastern Railway said that the stone-pelting incident took place when the Vande Bharat Express train was passing through Kumarganj railway station in Malda division. The RPF and the state police are probing the matter by registering an FIR against unknown stone pelters. The glass panes of C3 and C6 coaches were broken in the stone pelting. The RPF has also started an awareness campaign in some areas to prevent incidents of stone pelting.

Stone pelting marks on glass of coaches C-3, C-6

According to the information, when the Vande Bharat Express (22302) reached Malda Town Railway Station at around 5.57 pm on Tuesday, on checking, marks of stone pelting were found on the glasses of coaches C-3 and C-6. Earlier on Monday, there was stone pelting on the Vande Bharat train in Malda district of West Bengal. While coming from New Jalpaiguri to Howrah, someone pelted stones at the train near Malda station. Due to this the door of coach C-13 got damaged. However, no passenger was injured in the incident. Because of this the train is not late.

Vande Bharat Express journey starts in Bengal from January 1

Significantly, Prime Minister Narendra Modi gifted the first Vande Bharat Express to West Bengal on December 30 after lighting the mother Heera Ben. Vande Bharat has started its journey from 1st January. A day after this, the first incident of stone pelting on Vande Bharat Express came to light.
