Odisha | A student put the lives of around 20 students in trouble to get the school shut down in Odisha. The case is of a higher secondary school in Western Odisha. It is being told that on Wednesday afternoon, two students living in the hostel of Kamagaon Higher Secondary School complained of nausea and vomiting after drinking water. Please tell that this school is located in Bhatli Block of Bargarh District. The two students, who had earlier complained of ill health, both drank water kept in a plastic bottle kept in the room.

After this, in the next few hours, 18 other students living in the hostel also complained of nausea and vomiting. All were students of class 11th. All these students drank water from the same bottle. In a hurry, the administration here admitted all these students to the local hospital. The doctors treating these students said that all the students were out of danger but all of them would be kept under the supervision of doctors till Sunday afternoon. Bargarh Chief Medical Officer Dr Arun Kumar Patra said that all these students had drank water mixed with insecticide.

Therefore, their upper intestine had to be cleaned so that no part of the poison could enter during digestion. After this matter came to light, there was a stir among the school management. The school administration immediately started investigating the matter. Investigations revealed that a 16-year-old student of arts subjects had mixed this pesticide used in the garden with water.

Premanand Patel, the principal of the school, said, “This student had gone to his home on December 4 and came back to the hostel on December 6. But this student wanted to go home again. He hoped that in view of the Omicron variant of the corona virus, the government would soon impose a lockdown. When he shared on social media that due to Omicron variant there is going to be a lockdown on December 19, then his hope of going home increased.

However, after this, when I put this message in my college group that the matter of lockdown is just a rumour, then the student got very upset after knowing this. He had told some of his friends that he would somehow keep the college closed.

On Wednesday, this student mixed this poison in a water bottle and he gave water mixed with this poison to these students. Some students threw it after seeing the color of the water changed, while some took one or two sips of it.

The principal also told that the student who mixed this pesticide in the water also lied that he had drank this water and his health too had deteriorated. When this student was referred for treatment in Sambhalpur district, he quietly went to his home 48 km away from there. After investigation, it was revealed that this student had taken such a step in order to get the school closed.
