NEET-UG 2024: The Supreme Court has issued a notice to NTA in the NEET case. The apex court said that the sanctity of the exam has been affected. In such a situation, the answer is due from NTA. NTA will have to respond. The court has refused to stay the counseling for the time being. The next hearing in the case will be held on July 8. The court issued a notice to NTA and tagged it with the already pending petition.

A petition was filed in the Supreme Court regarding the alleged irregularities in the NEET exam (NEET 2024) result. The petition challenges the decision to give grace marks to 1,563 candidates. The petition has demanded the cancellation of the exam. 67 students have topped the NEET exam together. A large number of students protested in Delhi on Monday regarding the rigging in this exam.

67 toppers came out together in NEET exam

The result of NEET UG 2024 was released on June 4. The result of many students was not showing online. Many students had low marks. According to the OMR sheet, the marks that should have been given were not given. 67 toppers emerged at once. There is also an allegation that the OMR sheet was torn. Regarding the scam in NEET, Aayushi Patel of Lucknow told that her result was not showing on June 4, then she got a mail from NTA, in which it was told that her OMR sheet was torn but it is clearly visible in the photo that the OMR sheet has been torn intentionally.

NTA's statement on rigging in NEET exam

On the other hand, NTA has clearly denied any kind of rigging in the exam. Regarding grace marks, NTA says that grace marks have been given to some candidates due to loss of time at some exam centers. NTA had said on Saturday that the Ministry of Education has constituted a four-member panel to review the grace marks given to more than 1500 candidates.

Politics intensifies over rigging in NEET result

Politics has also intensified over rigging in NEET exam result. Many opposition leaders including Congress have raised questions on 67 students topping the exam together. The leaders say that it has never been seen before when not one, two, three but 67 candidates have topped together. Rahul Gandhi said that more than 24 lakh students have suffered due to the irregularities in the examination. This issue will be raised in Parliament. At the same time, Priyanka Gandhi said that the government will have to take serious steps to correct these irregularities.

What did the CEO of Physics Wala say on the SC decision

On the Supreme Court's decision, Physics Wala CEO Alakh Pandey said that there was a PIL before the NEET results. For that, the court has said that the sanctity of the exam has been compromised. This issue was only about paper leak because the results were not out at that time. NTA has been asked for a reply for this. It will be looked into on July 8. Our issue will be listed tomorrow. There has been no talk of grace numbers in this hearing. In the PIL we have filed, we have talked about both grace numbers and paper leak. There has also been a demand for an SIT probe into the alleged irregularities in the NEET exam.

What is the whole matter

The petition was filed by Shivangi Mishra and nine students on June 1 even before the declaration of the result (Shivangi Mishra and others vs National Testing Agency and others diary no. 25656/2024).

After this, when the result was declared on June 4, some more petitions have also been filed in the Supreme Court, questioning the decision of the National Testing Agency (NTA) to give grace marks to many candidates. However, those petitions, which were filed after the declaration of results, are not listed today.

The grace marks controversy in NEET-UG has reached the Supreme Court. In this petition, there was a demand to withdraw the result and conduct the examination again. It was said in the petition that giving grace marks in the result is an arbitrary decision of NTA. There is no mathematical basis for giving 718 or 719 marks to the students.

This petition was filed by Abdullah Mohammad Faiz and Dr. Sheikh Roshan, who work for student welfare. Both of them work for students in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

Along with this, about 20 thousand students had filed petitions in different states across the country regarding NEET-UG 2024, complaining of irregularities in the examination.

The petition filed against grace marks states that NTA has not yet told what method they have adopted to give grace marks to the students. At the same time, the provision of giving grace marks was not mentioned in the information bulletin issued by NTA before the exam. In such a situation, it is not right to give grace marks to some candidates.
