New Delhi: A 5-match high profile Test series is to be played between India and England on UK soil from August 4, but before that Shubman Gill has already been ruled out of the series due to injury. After that Avesh Khan and Washington Sundar have also been ruled out of the tour with injuries.Due to which Suryakumar Yadav got a call for the Test team for the first time and he will leave for England as a substitute player along with opener Prithvi Shaw.Off-spinner Jayant Yadav was also supposed to go to Britain to replace Washington but it is learned that only Suryakumar and Prithvi Shaw will be sent for now.
This was confirmed by a senior BCCI official. He said, 'Yes, Prithvi and Surya are going from Sri Lanka to Britain. Jayant also had to go but due to segregation needs there has been some change in the plan. Jayant is not going now. Both players will go from 'bubble' to 'bubble' in London from Colombo. Whether they will leave in between T20 Internationals (Prithvi and Surya are part of the team in Sri Lanka) or after that, it will be decided.“But yes, these players are our substitutes for the Test series in England.
