Mohammed Shami: The Indian team has left for South Africa tour to play series in all three formats. However, one player whose playing in the Test series to be held on this tour is in suspense is fast bowler Mohammed Shami, who has taken the highest wicket in the ODI World Cup 2023. When he was included in the 2-match Test series team, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) had shared the information that the decision on his playing would be taken based on his fitness. Shami was suffering from this problem in the World Cup and for this reason it was decided to give him rest.

Shami played with pain even in the World Cup

In the ODI World Cup 2023, Mohammed Shami impressed everyone with his bowling and also took the most wickets in the tournament. However, now according to the report of Cricbuzz, it has been revealed that Shami was suffering from ankle pain even in the World Cup but he decided to play in the tournament. For this reason, Shami has been rested from the T20 series against Australia and now from both the T20 and ODI series to be held on the South Africa tour. A BCCI source said in his statement to Cricbuzz that Shami had some ankle problem which came to light during the World Cup, but despite this he continued playing. Shami is having a lot of trouble while bowling while finishing his runup.

Indian team will start the tour from December 10

Team India will start this tour with a three-match T20 series, in which it has to play the first match against the host team at Durban. Considering the preparations for the T20 World Cup 2024, this series is considered very important for the Indian team, because as per its fixed schedule, India will get a chance to play only one more T20 series before the mega event, which will be against Afghanistan on home soil. But will play after this tour is over.
