Teesta Supreme Court: Teesta Supreme Court: Social activist Teesta Setalvad has got a big relief from the Supreme Court. While giving interim relief to Teesta, the Supreme Court has said that we stay the Gujarat High Court's order. The Gujarat High Court on Saturday refused to grant bail to Teesta Setalvad and ordered him to surrender immediately. At the same time, after the setback from the High Court, she reached the Supreme Court, where the bail plea was heard on Saturday night and she was provided interim relief.

The Supreme Court has given Teesta Setalvad seven days to file regular bail. Along with this, a week's stay has been imposed on the order of the Gujarat High Court. The Supreme Court Registry will place every application in front of the Chief Justice so that the case can be heard accordingly.

At the same time, during the hearing, the apex court told Solicitor General Tushar Mehta, appearing for the Gujarat government, that you are saying the same thing again and again. Justice BR Gavai said that if a person has been granted bail since September, why was he not given even 7 days to file an appeal in the Supreme Court? I fail to understand the order given by the High Court.

SC asked- Why was our order ignored?

Regarding filing a bail petition in the Supreme Court after the High Court, the Solicitor General said that a person is using every platform and every institution. On this, the court said that only interim relief is being heard now. The Supreme Court asked that the High Court has ignored the order of this court?

The Solicitor General was told that we are ready to hear the matter till morning. Regarding the High Court's decision to ignore the Supreme Court's order, the Solicitor General said that I just want to clarify why the High Court did not give regular bail and asked to surrender, because it is not a matter of a common citizen.

What arguments did Teesta's lawyer make?

During the hearing in the apex court, Solicitor General Tushar Mehta appeared on behalf of the Gujarat government, while advocate CU Singh presented arguments on behalf of Teesta. Teesta's lawyer said that the Supreme Court granted interim bail to his client in September. It was clarified in this that until the High Court orders on regular bail, the interim bail will continue.

Keeping the arguments, Teesta's lawyer further said that his client has not committed any violation. The charge sheet has been filed. Teesta has appeared on every date. There has also been no violation of bail conditions on his part.

After listening to the argument of the lawyer, the Supreme Court said that today we are looking into only interim protection. The lawyer was asked when the order was given by the High Court. In response to this, the lawyer told that the order of the High Court has come today. That's why we demand to provide interim relief of 30 days. The High Court has also ordered to surrender immediately.

CU Singh said that there would be no harm in legal and procedural form in continuing the interim relief till the next order of the Supreme Court. Teesta's passport is also deposited. She is also cooperating in the investigation. Charges have been framed and two sections are non-bailable.

The Supreme Court was angry with the Gujarat government

Solicitor General Tushar Mehta, appearing on behalf of the Gujarat government, said on the order of the High Court that the bail of any ordinary citizen has not been canceled through it. There is a lot in this matter and the matter is being presented in a wrong way. Actually, the Supreme Court was angry on the order of the High Court. This was the reason that in the midst of Mehta's arguments, the Supreme Court said that the method of the High Court was not correct. When there was no violation in the bail granted by us, then why the order was challenged.

On this, the SG said that investigation is going on against him under serious sections in such a case. SG said that please do not comment on the order. Then the Supreme Court said that we are recording every fact in the order. SG said that Teesta tarnished the image of the country not only in the country but also outside the country. The SG said Teesta's focus was to implicate people in false cases and destabilize the state government. Ordinary citizens cannot do this. This was done under the agenda.

Teesta is accused of Gujarat riots

Actually, Teesta Setalvad is accused of implicating innocent people in the 2002 Gujarat riots. He is accused of fabricating evidence to implicate the innocent. In June last year, Teesta was detained along with former Gujarat Director General of Police RB Sreekumar and former IPS officer Sanjiv Bhatt. At the same time, on September 2, the Supreme Court approved the interim bail filed by Teesta. After this she came out of jail on September 3.
