Shivamogga : A poster of Veer Savarkar created a ruckus in Shivamogga, Karnataka. Some Muslim youths started opposing this poster put up by Hinduist organizations on the occasion of Independence Day. After this, the Karnataka Police has imposed restrictions in some parts of the district. Hindu organizations have started a demonstration to remove the picture of Savarkar.

There was a ruckus at Mangaluru's Suratkal Junction over a similar banner. Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI) workers here raised objections to the picture of Savarkar and after that this flex was removed. A circle here was named after Savarkar. It was also approved by Mangaluru City Corporation. The circle was named after Savarkar on the demand of BJP MLA Y Bharat Shetty.

The local leader of SDPI said that Suratkal is a sensitive area so the matter was brought to the notice of the police. SDPI is also opposed to naming the circle after Savarkar. Let us tell you that in the last few years, many communal incidents have come to the fore from Karnataka.

Controversy over Tipu Sultan's poster

In Karnataka, Congress workers put up posters of Tipu Sultan along with freedom fighters. After this DK Shivakumar reached the spot. Shivakumar then targeted CM Bommai and said that he had made Pandit Nehru's name missing from the list of freedom fighters. He also attacked Savarkar by making several tweets.
