'INDIA' Alliance: The tenure of the 17th Lok Sabha is going to complete on June 16 this year. Even before that, elections for the Lok Sabha will be held across the country. To defeat BJP in this election, Congress and Samajwadi Party have agreed to come together on the Lok Sabha seats of Uttar Pradesh. If sources are to be believed, both the parties can announce their alliance within a week.

How many seats will Congress get in UP?

There are 80 Lok Sabha seats in Uttar Pradesh. Both Congress and Samajwadi Party will contest elections together on these seats. It is being reported quoting sources that Samajwadi Party can give 15-16 seats to Congress in Uttar Pradesh. These seats also include Congress's traditional seats Rae Bareli and Amethi. Apart from this, consent on the seats of Kanpur, Jhansi, Jalaun and Fatehpur is also considered almost certain. However, no official announcement has been made yet. But it is expected that within a week both can announce their alliance and consensus of seats.

Earlier SP had offered 11 seats

Earlier, Samajwadi Party had given 11 Lok Sabha seats to Congress in Uttar Pradesh. SP chief Akhilesh Yadav had given this information through a tweet on his ex (earlier Twitter). He had said in his post, 'Our cordial alliance with Congress is off to a good start with 11 strong seats. This trend will continue further with the winning equation. The team of 'India' and the strategy of 'PDA' will change history.

Congress had termed this decision of Akhilesh Yadav as informal. Responding to this post, Congress leader Jairam Ramesh had said, 'Talks are still going on regarding seat sharing in Uttar Pradesh. The information given by Akhilesh Yadav through tweet is not formal yet. Now Ashok Gehlot and Akhilesh Yadav will talk on this topic. Only after the decision is taken will we be able to say whether the formula has been decided.

Well, Congress and Samajwadi Party have not yet made any official announcement regarding their seat sharing. But if sources are to be believed, both the parties can announce it in a week.
