On Wednesday, Additional Chief Secretary of the Health Department, Pratyaya Amrit, while holding a press conference, informed that till now the figure of deaths was reported as 5424, it is wrong while the real figure is 9375 (till June 7).

In fact, on May 18 itself, the state government had decided to conduct an inquiry into the figures of deaths due to corona. For this, two types of teams were formed, in whose investigation report this negligence has come to the fore.

In the investigation conducted by the Health Department in the districts, it has been revealed that there have been gross irregularities in the death figures from Corona. Pratyaya Amrit has admitted that there has been a lot of insensitivity in this sensitive matter. He talked about taking action against those who took such carelessness, but kept silence on the question of how many people have been acted upon so far.

Not only this, Pratyaya Amrit also gave some arguments on the gross negligence caught in the figures of deaths from Corona. He told that many people died in home isolation, many people after getting infected went to other districts, where they died, some people died while going to the hospital, some died post covid. In such a situation, the exact figure of deaths could not be found.

However, the opposition has been continuously accusing the government of hiding the figures of deaths. The government has definitely improved the death figures, but it is claimed that there have been countless deaths in rural areas of Bihar who had symptoms of corona, but their corona test could not be done, so they never made it to the government figures.
