In Haryana's Panipat, cases of throwing a newborn baby are continuously coming to the fore. On Wednesday evening at 5.30 pm, the dog brought the dead newborn tied in a foil on the road. Neighbors rescued the baby's body from the dogs and informed the police. The police have started investigation by registering a report against the unidentified woman. At first sight, the age of the infant was between seven and nine months.

In the complaint given to the Qila police station, ward-11 resident Kapil Sharma said that when he reached near Essar petrol pump in Saini Colony at 5.30 pm on Wednesday, stray dogs were pulling the foil at the corner of a factory. He went near and saw that there was a newborn baby in the foil, which the dog was nudging. He chased away the dogs and informed the police.

Kapil told that the unknown woman threw the baby to hide the birth of the newborn child. As soon as the information of the case was received, the Qila police station reached the spot and kept the dead child in the mortuary of the General Hospital for post-mortem. Qila police station in-charge Zakir Hussain says that CCTV footage is being investigated around. The records of hospitals will also be seen.

It is worth noting that earlier in January, a case of throwing a girl child near a factory in Shivnagar came to light. The accused mother was arrested by the police. The accused girl was a resident of Meerut. During interrogation, he had admitted to having an affair with the youth of the factory. He was later released on bail.
