In Balasore, Odisha, a woman was raped by a tantrik in front of her two and a half year old son for 79 days. On Friday, the police rescued the woman and her child from the locked room. However, the accused managed to escape. Police is searching for him.
The victim has complained to the police that her husband and in-laws had forced her to live with a tantrik to resolve the marital discord. The woman was married in 2017. The tantrik had assured the in-laws that if she stayed with him for a few months, the discord would be resolved.
According to the woman, when she refused to do so, her mother-in-law made her unconscious. When he regained consciousness, he found himself in the tantric's room. The family members had also left the son there. On 28 April, the tantrik had left his mobile phone in the room and went somewhere. Then the woman called and told the family members.
