Farmers Protest: Farmers are to hold a Mahapanchayat at Delhi's Jantar Mantar today, but the police have not allowed farmers to come from outside the capital. In view of the farmers' protest, security has been increased by the police on the Delhi-Meerut Expressway near the Ghazipur border. Every incoming vehicles are being strictly checked here. Police say that those farmers who have come to Delhi can go to Jantar Mantar. At the same time, it has also been said that more than the number of people will not gather there.

Many farmer organizations under the banner of United Kisan Morcha are gathering to stage a dharna at Jantar Mantar from 11 am to 4 pm today against the promise of the government. At the same time, the first meeting of the MSP committee constituted by the Union Agriculture Ministry is also to be held at 10.30 am today.

Delhi Police has made elaborate arrangements to prevent farmers from entering the capital from Tikri border. Barricades and police of many police stations have been put on the border. Abhimanyu Kohar, an office-bearer of United Kisan Morcha, informed the media that farmers are holding a mahapanchayat at Jantar Mantar on many issues.

Delhi Police issued traffic advisory

Issuing a traffic advisory, Delhi Police said that in view of the Mahapanchayat at Jantar Mantar on behalf of the United Kisan Morcha, people traveling on the road are appealed to make a plan in advance so as to avoid going on these routes. . The routes on which people may face problems are-

Tolstoy Marg, Sansad Marg, Janpath (Outer Circle of Connaught Place to Windsall Place), Outer Circle of Connaught Place, Ashoka Road, Baba Kharak Singh Marg and Pandit Pant Marg.

Delhi Police removed from Tikri border

Delhi Police has withdrawn from Tikri border, after which farmers are now coming inside Delhi unabated. The blockade has been removed from the Tikri border. Iron barricades have been put on the side and there are no Delhi Police personnel on the border anymore. The farmers going to Delhi said – now no one is stopping them. He said that if Delhi Police had stopped, he would have sat there. Farmers going to Jantar Mantar to stage a one-day dharna. If the government does not agree, then firm fronts can be started.

Farmers have called Mahapanchayat regarding these issues

The issues of the Mahapanchayat include the demand for the arrest of Union Minister Ajay Mishra Teni in connection with the incident, to provide justice to the farmer families of the Tikunia incident of Lakhimpur Kheri in Uttar Pradesh, release of the farmers in jail. However, the main accused in the Tikunia case, Ashish Mishra, son of Teni, is still in jail.

Apart from this, the farmers are demanding that the MSP guarantee law be enacted on the basis of the recommendation of the Swaminathan Commission, loan waiver for all farmers of India, cancellation of 2022 electricity bill, increase the support price of sugarcane and payment of arrears immediately, during the agitation. Farmers are gathering on issues like return of cases filed against farmers, payment of compensation to farmers under Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana and Agneepath scheme etc.
