Chhattisgarh / The woman was going back home from the market with two children, died by drowning in a drain in Jashpur

In Chhattisgarh's Jashpur district, a woman returning home from Bhadiya weekly market of Pandarapath area along with her two children got washed away in a strong current drain, causing their death. The woman was a resident of Saraipani village of Lundra block in Surguja district.

According to police sources, after getting information about this matter, the team of divers of the police have recovered the three bodies after five hours of hard work today. The bodies of the deceased Sumitra Bai (35) and her two children have been handed over by the police to their relatives after the postmortem.

Dhananjay Yadav, Sarpanch of Bhadia village told that the main road here is a bridgeless drain. Due to heavy rain last evening, this drain was in spate, due to which she lost her balance while crossing, the hill Korwa woman along with her two children got washed away. There has been a demand to build a bridge on this drain for a long time, but due to the absence of the bridge, there have been many accidents here.
