Bihar Politics: Cabinet expansion to take place in Bihar. After about 45 days, new ministers will be sworn in in the Nitish government. Actually this cabinet expansion was to take place on 14th March i.e. Thursday. But the names of ministers to be made from BJP quota could not be finalised. For this reason this expansion has been postponed. Currently there are nine ministers including Nitish Kumar. In which two Deputy CMs Samrat Chaudhary and Vijay Sinha from BJP quota are also included. All of them took oath on 28 January. Along with these, JDU's Vijay Chaudhary, Vijendra Yadav and Shravan Kumar took oath as ministers. There can be 36 ministers in Bihar. Currently there are nine ministers including the CM. This means that 27 leaders can get a place in the cabinet.

Let us now tell you about the ministers who took oath even before the cabinet expansion. 9 ministers can be made from JDU quota. Of these, 8 were ministers in the Nitish government earlier also. But then there was a coalition government in Bihar with RJD and Congress.

Just one change from JDU quota

Only one change has been made from JDU quota. Maheshwar Hazari is being included in the cabinet in place of Sanjay Jha. Sanjay Jha has now become a Rajya Sabha MP. Now he will do Delhi politics. Nitish Kumar wanted to send his trusted leader to Delhi. That's why he chose Sanjay Jha. Before this he was the Water Resources Minister in Bihar Government. Hazari was earlier the Deputy Speaker in Bihar Legislative Assembly. He comes from Dalit community.

Four JDU leaders from Scheduled Caste are ministers

Four JDU leaders from Scheduled Castes are being made ministers. The first name is that of Ashok Chaudhary. He is said to be a close leader of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. Recently, he had organized a big rally of people of Dalit community named Bhim Samvad. He is always seen with Nitish Kumar. Ashok Chaudhary was the Building Construction Minister in the previous government. He has also been the President of Bihar Congress.

Former IPS officer Sunil Kumar is also being made a minister. He also belongs to Dalit community. Ratnesh Sada, also from Dalit community, is getting a place in the cabinet. All these leaders have been informed by phone that they are becoming ministers.

The remaining 5 leaders from JDU who have been included in the cabinet expansion have been ministers earlier also. Five-time MLA Lacey Singh is being made a cabinet minister again. When she became MLA for the first time, her husband was murdered. She comes from Thakur caste.

The only Muslim minister in Nitish government

Madan Sahni, MLA from Bahadurpur in Darbhanga can also be made a minister. They come from extremely backward class. Mallah voters have good influence in some areas of Bihar. Jayant Raj of Kushwaha community is being made a minister again. He is an MLA from Amarpur in Banka district. Sheela Mandal will be the second woman minister from JDU quota in Nitish government. Mohammad Zaman Khan may be the only Muslim minister in Nitish government. He won the elections from Chainpur in Kaimur district on BSP ticket but later joined JDU.
