Patients will get world class medical facilities in the 24-storey IPD Tower to be built in Sawai Man Singh Hospital. On April 5, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot and UDH Minister Shanti will lay the foundation stone of IPD Tower in SMS. Teaching room, 20 ICU, 166 ICU beds, 1200 beds, 20 OPDs, 4 cath labs, 100 OPD registration counters, two helipads and a medical martyr memorial will be built in this 116 meter high IPD tower. Along with this, transplantation of other organs including heart and kidney can also be done here.

Work will be done in two phases

The IPD tower will be constructed in two phases. The responsibility of its construction has been given to Rama Construction Company. The tower will be built in an area of ​​25660 square meters and 8 lakh square feet for Rs 456.80 crore. In the first phase, 12 floors will be constructed. The target has been set to complete this work in 20 months. The rest of the work will be done in the second phase. The completion of this project will take 32 months i.e. more than two and a half years. There will be 16 lifts in the tower and two helipads on the roof for air ambulances.

There will be 92 premium and 150 cottage wards

All the blocks of the tower will be interconnected through integrated building management systems. A medical science museum, a sky lounge for employees will also be built here. There will also be shops and mess for the patients. 92 premium rooms and 150 cottage wards will also be built in the tower. There will also be seminars, lectures and teaching rooms. Ultra-modern facilities with security measures will be provided. Security monitoring and a modern morgue will also be built in the IPD tower. Along with this, a police station will also be constructed.

Dr. Sudhir Bhandari, Principal, SMS Hospital and Medical College said that IPD tower is a new concept. It is being prepared to accommodate the growth of patients coming from Rajasthan and adjoining states.
