WPL Auction 2024: The player auction process for the second season of the Women's Premier League (WPL), held on December 9 in Mumbai, ended after the slots of all the teams were completed. For the second season, a total of 165 players, including Indian and foreign women players, had registered themselves, out of which only 30 players got lucky in the auction, whom different franchises have made a part of their team for the upcoming season. This time, Annabel Sutherland and Kashvi Gautam got Rs 2 crore each in the auction, after which both these players have joined the list of top-10 players who got the highest amount in the auction history of the Women's Premier League.

Gujarat spent the most money

Gujarat Giants team had released the maximum number of players after the last season, after this they had to make a total of 10 players a part of their team for the auction of this second season and they were left with a total of Rs 5 crore 95 lakh in their purse. . Gujarat spent a total of Rs 4 crore 50 lakh in the auction after completing its team. Apart from Phoebe Litchfield, Meghna Singh, Trisha Poojitha, he has also made Kashvi Gautam a part of his team for the next season. Talking about Mumbai Indians, they had to buy only five players in the auction, in which they spent Rs 1 crore 20 lakh to make Shabnim Ismail a part of their team. With the end of this auction, the slots of all the teams have become full. Now everyone is waiting for the schedule of the next season, which can be announced soon by BCCI.
