Actress Shafaq Naaz, who played the role of 'Shruti' in the TV serial 'Gum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Meiin', has also faced a bad experience due to obesity. In an interview to ETimes, the actress told how actors in the industry feel pressured because of their body shape and beauty. Actresses are always told to stay slim. Apart from this, Shafaq also told that due to the increased weight, he was even rejected.

Shafaq said, 'I had gone to give an audition, he told me clearly that he could not give me the role because I had gained weight. My health had deteriorated some time back. Because of this I had gained weight. I was surprised that how do girls who are overweight endure all this every day. Shafaq further said- 'If someone is a good artist, it doesn't matter what size he is. I am comfortable in my skin, but when I see all this, these things are on my mind. We desperately need to end these fake beauty standards.
