Africa News: China has started making inroads in African countries. Along with giving loans to these poor African countries, it also provides weapons and fighter jets for mutual fighting. The African country of Botswana is surrounded by enemy countries that have Chinese fighter jets. To counter these fighter jets, the African country Botswana has liked the Indian aircraft 'Tejas' very much. By purchasing this 'Tejas' aircraft, he is preparing to compete with the Chinese fighter jet. For this, Botswana's army has also started discussions for a deal with Hindustan Aeronautics Limited, a Government of India company. Because Hindustan Aeronautics Limited ie HAL only manufactures Tejas fighter jet.

According to media reports, if Botswana makes a deal with the Government of India to buy 'Tejas' fighter jets, then it will be an important step in the direction of exporting arms to the Government of India. By the way, India has started supplying missiles and other weapons like BrahMos to South East Asian countries.

Botswana looking to replace old fighter jets with 'Tejas'

According to the report of African Intelligence, the army of Botswana has shown its interest in India's Tejas fighter jet many times. Since 2013, Botswana's military has been looking to replace its aging fighter jets. Currently, Botswana uses Canadian CF5A fighter jets, which Botswana bought from Canada in 1996. But seeing the increasing threat of attack from its neighboring countries, it wants to retaliate by changing its fighter jets. For this, Botswana had also shown interest in South Korea's fighter jet, but Botswana has liked the features of the Indian fighter jet 'Tejas'.

Chinese fighter jet near Namibia, Zimbabwe

Botswana's neighboring countries like Namibia, Zimbabwe have Chinese fighter jets. Botswana's neighboring country Zambia is using the state-of-the-art version of the MiG-21. At the same time, Namibia has bought 12 Chengdu F7NM aircraft from China, which is a copy of Russia's MiG.21. China has improved a lot in this. The same Zimbabwe had also placed an order for FC1 fighter jets to China in the year 2004. Botswana has repeatedly alleged that air forces of neighboring countries violate its airspace. Earlier in the year 1990, South African fighter helicopters attacked the military base of Botswana. Botswana's enmity is mainly with South Africa and Zimbabwe.

Botswana wanted to take F-16 aircraft first

Botswana had earlier expressed interest in purchasing FA-50 aircraft from South Korea, but later changed its mind. Apart from this, Botswana was looking to buy American aircraft F-16, but could not get approval from the American company. At the same time, the price of Sweden's fighter planes was high. In such a situation, when it comes to buying a good, quality, appropriate firepower fighter jet at a comparatively low price, then Botswana has found the Indian Tejas aircraft the most suitable.
