ICC Rankings: These days the Indian cricket team is playing T20 series against Ireland. While playing ODI cricket, now the team will take on Pakistan on 2 September during the Asia Cup 2023. If we talk about Test cricket, then the team has to play red ball cricket directly in December. Meanwhile, some changes have been seen in the latest ICC rankings released on Wednesday, 23 August. The most special in this has been the long jump of Ruturaj Gaikwad, who played a half-century in the second T20 against Ireland. At the same time, in the ODI rankings, Shubman Gill has left behind Pakistan's star batsman and made a place in the headlines.

Shubman Gill beat Pakistani player

However, Shubman Gill's performance was nothing special in the recently played ODI series against the West Indies. Before that, he also flopped against Australia in March. But he remains in the top 5 even after the series of centuries he scored against Sri Lanka and New Zealand at the beginning of the year, including a double century. On the other hand, in the latest ODI batsmen's rankings, Pakistan's Fakhar Zaman slipped two places and Gill got the direct benefit of this and he moved from 5th to 4th position. Whereas Fakhar has slipped to fifth. Another Pakistani player, Imam-ul-Haq, has moved from fourth to third position.

Ruturaj Gaikwad's long jump

In the Ireland series, Team India's opener and vice-captain Ruturaj Gaikwad has made a quantum jump in the latest T20 International rankings. He scored an unbeaten 19 off 16 balls in the first match of the current series and 58 off 43 balls in the second match. He has now jumped 143 places in the latest rankings to rank 87th among batsmen in T20 Internationals. Apart from this, leg-spinner Ravi Bishnoi has also gained 17 places. Bishnoi, who took four wickets in two matches against Ireland in the ongoing series, has now moved up to 65th position. Also, returning to international cricket, Bumrah has gained 7 places to reach 84th position.
