Sreesanth claimed after his retirement that he asked the Kerala Cricket Association for a farewell match, but he was flatly refused. Sreesanth revealed that he wanted to be a part of Kerala team against Gujarat in Ranji Trophy 2021-22 which would have been his farewell and final match but it was not allowed to happen. The management had refused to give this bowler a place in the team.

S. Sreesanth announced his retirement on Twitter. He has shared an emotional message. He has written, 'It is an honor for me to represent my family, my colleagues and the people of India. To everyone who loves the game, with great sadness but without regret, I say this with a heavy heart, I am retiring from Indian domestic, first-class and all-format cricket. But he was not selected for the IPL either. He was an important part of India's team that won the T20 World Cup 2007 and World Cup 2011.

There were allegations of match-fixing

s. Sreesanth wanted to play cricket back, so he gave his name in IPL mega auction this time, but he did not get any buyer. At some point S Sreesanth was one of the star fast bowlers of India. He was part of the Indian team that won the 2007 and 2011 World Cups. In IPL, he used to play for Punjab Kings and Rajasthan Royals.

He played his last match for Rajasthan Royals, but in 2013 he was found guilty of spot-fixing, after which he was banned for life. However, the Kerala High Court lifted that ban and after that he has presented a spectacular performance in domestic cricket.

After serving a 7-year suspension for his alleged involvement in the 2013 IPL spot-fixing scandal, the veteran pacer is happy to find a place in the Kerala team. He has presented an example of excellent bowling in the Ranji Trophy. He takes wickets very quickly on slow balls. He has played cricket for India in all three formats. S Sreesanth has taken 87 wickets in 27 Tests, 75 wickets in 53 ODIs and 7 wickets in 10 T20 matches for India.
