Black Fungus / Till now 5424 cases of Mucormycosis reported in 18 States and UTs 55 percent of the patients had diabetes

Black Fungus: Mucor mycosis is also wreaking havoc across the country in the midst of the Corona crisis. On Monday, Union Health Minister Dr. Harsh Vardhan presided over the 27th meeting of the Group of Ministers. During this, he gave information on the condition of black fungus across the country and said that it has been found in 18 states so far.

The Health Minister said that so far a total of 5 thousand 424 cases of black fungus have been reported across the country. Of these, 4 thousand 556 patients who had Kovid-19 infection earlier and 55 percent of the patients had diabetes.

He said that till Monday morning, 5,424 cases of mucor mycosis (black fungus) have been reported in 18 states. Of these, the maximum number of cases was 2,165 in Gujarat, 1,188 in Maharashtra, 663 in Uttar Pradesh, 519 in Madhya Pradesh, 339 in Haryana, 248 in Andhra Pradesh.

Let us know that mucarmycosis is a fungal infection. It affects those whose immune system is weakened due to a disease or its treatment. This fungus is present in the air and infects such people.
