Donald Trump News / Trump then took the credit, said- India-Pak tension reduced due to trade deal

US President Donald Trump said that he resolved the recent conflict between India and Pakistan through trade. Trump claimed that the US was making a great deal with both the countries. However, former NSA Bolton dismissed it as a "habit of taking credit".

Donald Trump News: Former US President Donald Trump is once again in the headlines, this time for his statement in which he claimed that he has resolved the recent tension between India and Pakistan through trade. Trump made this comment during a meeting with South African President Cyril Ramaphosa in the Oval Office.

Trump said, "If you look at what we did with Pakistan and India - we have resolved that whole matter, and I think I have resolved it through trade." He also said that the US is doing big trade deals with both the countries.

Claim of tension and interference

Recently, military tension was once again seen between India and Pakistan when India retaliated on Pakistan's terrorist bases under Operation Sindoor. After this, Pakistan also tried to target Indian military bases, due to which military encounters continued between the two countries for four consecutive days. On May 10, both the countries suddenly announced a complete ceasefire.

Trump claims that this ceasefire is the result of US mediation. He said that this was possible because of the strategic trade conversations and deals he made. Trump also added that "I hate to say that we have this sorted out and two days later something happens again, and people say it is Trump's fault."

Common friend and diplomatic equation

When Trump praised Pakistan and called its leaders "great", South African President Ramaphosa quipped, "Modi is a common friend." Trump smiled during this, but once again questions were raised on his strategy of maintaining balance between India and Pakistan.

Politics of credit

This statement of Trump is nothing new. He has made such claims earlier also on public forums and social media. Earlier also when the tension between India and Pakistan was at its peak, Trump had claimed even before the official announcements of India-Pakistan that he has played an important role in calming the tension between the two countries.

Criticism and sarcasm

On this claim of Trump, former US National Security Advisor (NSA) John Bolton commented sarcastically, "Trump has a habit of taking credit for everything. This is nothing against India, it is just Trump being Trump." He also said that Trump often makes statements without understanding any issue in depth, which can hamper diplomatic balance.
