Lucknow: The Yogi Adityanath-led government is set to start a 24-hour 'Abhinav Ambulance' service for the treatment of cows in the state from December.

Under this service, the cows will be transported to the veterinary hospital in the minimum possible time and the state government will also provide a system to cattle rearers for the improvement of the breeds of cows.

The state government is going to run 515 innovative ambulances. Each ambulance will have a veterinarian and two members of the veterinary staff with the service will be available 24 hours a day. The dispensation will also set up a call centre for the smooth operation of the service.

After calling the centre, one can avail the benefits of the ambulance service within 15 minutes. Animal farmers can also avail such facilities.

On the other hand, under the breed improvement programme for cows, the state government will provide a facility for free insemination of cows thrice to the cattle rearers. Through the 'Embryo Transplant' technique, 100 per cent insemination of cows will be arranged by the government.

This technique was first used in Barabanki district, leading to favourable results. Hence, the government is keen on extending this facility to all districts of Uttar Pradesh.

According to state Fisheries and Animal Husbandry Minister Laxmi Narayan Chaudhary, 515 ambulances have been prepared to start the 'Abhinav Ambulance' service, which will begin next month. The service will be available 24 hours a day and a call centre for the same will be established in Lucknow, he added.

The minister stated that the ambulance would arrive in 15-20 minutes to a designated after informing the call centre.

Chaudhary further said that under the cow breed improvement programme, cattle breeders will also be given the facility of free insemination thrice.
