People took to the streets to pay tribute to Navalny and demonstrated fiercely against President Putin. During this, people held candles, banners and pamphlets in their hands. They also raised slogans against Putin. The Russian police also got confused after seeing the increasing crowd of protesters on the road. After this the process of detaining him was started. Let us tell you that in Russia, more than 400 people have been detained while paying tribute to opposition leader Alexei Navalny.

A Russian rights group gave this information. The sudden death of Navalny (47) has come as a huge shock to many people of Russia. These people had high hopes for the future from President Vladimir Putin's staunchest opponent. Navalny was known for his widespread protests against government corruption and the Kremlin, the Russian ruling establishment. Navalny continued to criticize Putin even after surviving nerve agent poisoning and being sentenced to multiple prison terms.

Chaos in many cities of Russia

Hundreds of people in several Russian cities flocked to monuments to victims of political repression with flowers and candles on Friday and Saturday to pay tribute to the politician. During this, they started protesting and raising slogans accusing Putin of killing Navalny. According to the rights group 'OVD-Info', police in more than 12 cities detained 401 people till Saturday night. The group said more than 200 people were arrested in St. Petersburg, Russia's second-largest city.
