Haldwani Violence / Uproar over demolition of Madrasa in Haldwani, 6 dead, 139 injured, curfew in entire city

Haldwani Violence: Ruckus broke out after the demolition of a mosque in Uttarakhand on Thursday. The entire city was engulfed in violence. By the time the police could control the situation, the miscreants had carried out their plans. Stones were being pelted at the police and administration team. Many policemen have been injured in this attack. Many vehicles were set on fire. At one point the violence became so severe that the police had to retreat.

6 People died in violence

Now news is coming that 6 people have died in this violence. Many people are injured, including police personnel and common people. Curfew has been imposed in the entire Haldwani city. The delicacy of the situation can be gauged from the fact that the state government has given orders to shoot the miscreants at sight.

Internet was shut down in the city from Thursday night to prevent violence and rumours. Along with this, all schools will also remain closed today. In this whole chaos, people named Johnny, Anas, Rees Fahim, Israr and Siwan have died and more than 300 people have been injured. This includes Haldwani SDM Paritosh Verma, Kaladhungi SDM Rekha Kohli, Tehsildar Sachin Kumar, CO Special Operation Nitin Lohani and about 200 other policemen.

Why did the violence erupt?

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has given instructions to remove illegal encroachment on government lands of the state. In the same sequence, the Municipal Corporation team demolished the illegal madrassa and namaz place built in Malik's garden in Indira Nagar area of Banbhulpura by using JCB machine. After this, all the alleged anarchist elements living nearby pelted stones at the police and administration, in which many policemen were injured. According to the information, many journalists present there also suffered injuries during this period. It is also being said that firing was done on the police with illegal weapons.
