Ravichandran Ashwin: If any pair in Indian cricket history has given sleepless nights to opponents with bat and ball, it is the pair of Ravindra Jadeja and Ravichandran Ashwin. Both are considered among the best all-rounders in the world. Ashwin may have retired from international cricket, but Jadeja is still shining in Tests and ODIs. Former captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni played an important role in the formation of this pair. Recently a video went viral on social media, which exposed an old quarrel in this deep friendship. In the video, Ashwin asked Jadeja who gave him the name 'Sir Jadeja'. Jadeja replied with a smile - "Mahi bhai." After this, Ashwin teasingly asked, "When I called you sir, why did you abuse?" Jadeja laughingly told, "Whenever someone calls me sir, I feel that he is making fun of me." The name 'Sir Jadeja' started in 2013, when Mahendra Singh Dhoni jokingly gave him this name on social media. The name became popular among the fans in no time. However, according to Jadeja, he does not like it when people jokingly call him this.

Talking about Ashwin's career, he took 537 wickets and scored 3503 runs in 106 Test matches. He has 156 wickets and 707 runs in ODIs, while he has 72 wickets and 184 runs in T20s. He played his last international match against Australia in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25.

On the other hand, Ravindra Jadeja said goodbye to the T20 format after winning the ICC T20 World Cup 2024. His performance in the recent Test series against England was excellent - 532 runs and 7 wickets in 5 matches. Now, the star all-rounder will represent India in Tests and ODIs only.
