India-Mauritius Relations / 'We have always supported each other'- PM Modi said on India-Mauritius friendship

Prime Minister Narendra Modi described India-Mauritius relations as strong and said that both countries are together in every field. Cooperation will increase in trade, tourism and AI. He wished Mauritius on its National Day, while PM Navinchandra Ramgoolam described the special relations between India and Mauritius as historic.

India-Mauritius Relations: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has made an important statement towards further strengthening the historical ties between India and Mauritius. He said that both the countries have always stood with each other in happiness and sorrow and their bilateral relations have deepened over time.

Describing Mauritius as an important partner of India, Prime Minister Modi said that both the countries have made unprecedented progress in the field of trade and tourism. Apart from this, both the countries are ready to work together in modern areas like Artificial Intelligence (AI), which will give new direction to technological and economic development in future.

In his address, Prime Minister Modi emphasized that the relations between India and Mauritius are not limited to the Indian Ocean only, but they are also connected with deep roots of cultural traditions and values. He said, "We are not only with each other in the economic and social fields, but we have also fully assisted each other during natural disasters and global crises, such as the Kovid pandemic." On the occasion of the National Day of Mauritius, Prime Minister Modi greeted the people of Mauritius on behalf of 140 crore Indians. He said that it is a matter of good fortune for him that he got the opportunity to visit Mauritius once again on its National Day. He thanked Mauritius Prime Minister Navinchandra Ramgoolam and his government for this honour.

Mauritius Prime Minister Navinchandra Ramgoolam also termed Prime Minister Modi's presence as historic. He said that the presence of the Prime Minister of India on the 57th anniversary of Mauritius' independence is a proof of the strong and special relations between the two countries.
