Kolkata: During election campaigning, some slogans are coined to attack the opponents while the government at hand uses creative slogans to flaunt their work. One such slogan resonated a lot during the West Bengal assembly elections and gained popularity.

'Khela Hobe' was the slogan used by the ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC), which loosely translates to: "Game on". The slogan used during the West Bengal assembly elections was initially meant to keep the morale of the party (TMC) workers high.

Now, West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee has announced that since people loved 'Khela Hobe,' they will now celebrate a 'Khela Hobe Diwas' in Bengal. Mamta Banerjee said this in the West Bengal Assembly today.

The TMC, and Mamata Banerjee in particular, used this slogan frequently during election rallies. They were directly targeting the BJP and one can infer that this election slogan worked in favour of the TMC.

The election slogan didn't stop at 'Khela Hobe' either. Mamta Banerjee gave another slogan along with 'Khela Hobe' - 'Khela hobe, dekha hobe, jeeta hobe' (Let the game begin, we'll see, and we'll win).

Apart from this, Mamata Banerjee also used 'Hare Krishna Hare Ram, Vida Ho BJP-Vam' in response to the slogan of 'Jai Shri Ram.'

The TMC is now eyeing Tripura after their victory in the West Bengal assembly elections. Last month, the same slogan was released in Tripura, too. The name of the song in Tripura is 'Khela Hobe Tripuraya' which means - the game will now be played in Tripura.
