This work was to be done in Siddharth Nagar of Goregaon. The work of redevelopment of Patra Chawl was given to Guru Ashish Construction Company. 672 houses have been built in 47 acres of land of MHADA. The company had to make three and a half thousand flats. MHADA's plan was that after the construction of the flat, the remaining land would be sold. However, even after 14 years, the company did not build flats here. It is alleged that Guru Ashish Construction Company cheated MHADA and sold the land to the builders without constructing the flat. This made it a profit of more than Rs 901 crore.It is alleged that the company later started the second project and collected Rs 138 crore from the buyers. The company wrongly earned Rs 1034 crore and distributed the amount among its associates. This company is the sister company of HDIL. Praveen Raut was the director in it.How to connect with Sanjay RautIn the year 2018, MHADA filed an FIR against Guru Ashish Construction Company alleging fraud. The matter was referred to the Economic Offenses Wing. In 2020, Praveen Raut was arrested who is said to be close to Sanjay Raut. Praveen Raut was the director of the company along with Sarang and Rakesh Wadhawan. Wadhawan brothers are also accused in PMC Bank scam.Why did the name of Sanjay Raut's wife come up?After the arrest of Praveen Raut, raids were conducted on the premises of a person named Sujit Patkar. The documents found here revealed that Praveen Raut's wife had given a loan to Sanjay Raut's wife Varsha. Varsha Raut had bought a flat in Dadar by taking a loan of 55 lakhs. Sujit Patkar's link also got linked to Sanjay Raut. It is said that he is also close to Sanjay Raut and Raut's daughter is a partner in his wine trading company. In this way Sanjay Raut's family got caught in the clutches of ED.
