Two months after a 28-year-old Kurla resident went missing, the Mumbai crime department unravelled the thriller behind his disappearance and arrested seven people, which includes the spouse of the deceased, her elder sister and their brothers on Friday. The accused individuals had blended sedatives inside the victim’s dinner and whilst he has become unconscious, they stabbed him to death. After killing Deepak Sangle, a resident of Kranti Nagar location in Kurla (West), the accused had buried his body close to their house.

The arrested accused are identified as Saraswati Deepak Sangle, 21, her elder sister Manisha Achari, 25, and their brothers, Aditya Gautam, 19, and Anand Gautam, 22, and their neighbours Vishal Karade, 25, Kishor Sahu, 24, Ritik Vishwakarma, 22. All the accused were produced before a metropolitan magistrate and remanded to police custody until August 30.

Deepak Sangle’s elder sister Sangeeta had lodged a missing person complaint with the Vinoba Bhave Nagar police station on June 21, claiming that her brother had gone missing because June 15. Police officials stated Sangle was an alcoholic and numerous body offences had been registered towards him by the nearby police. He regularly assaulted his spouse on trivial troubles and was also a nuisance for neighbours because of his erratic behaviour, stated a police officer.

“Initially, we suspected that he may have left the location to avoid police action. The legitimate of unit five scrutinised his mobile number and different family members and suspected a few foul plays. On wondering Sangle’s spouse and brother-in-laws Aditya and Anand, we located numerous discrepancies of their statements,” stated deputy commissioner of police Pranay Ashok.

However, Aditya ultimately confessed to the crime and additionally discovered that they'd buried the body at their different house, close to Sangle’s residence, Ashok added.
