Bharat Jodo Yatra: Article 370 was in force in Jammu and Kashmir till the year 2019, it was removed after the return of the Narendra Modi government at the Centre. When this proposal was introduced in the Parliament by Union Home Minister Amit Shah, there was a big ruckus. It was strongly opposed by several opposition parties, including the Congress, but the resolution was passed and since then the privileges of the valley have ended. The valley was converted from a state to a union territory. Since then, the Lieutenant Governor is looking after the administrative work under the President's Rule.

Rahul Gandhi held a meeting in Satwari, Jammu

These days the Bharat Jodo Yatra of Congress is only in Jammu and Kashmir. The yatra will end on January 30 in Srinagar. During this visit, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi held a public meeting at Satwari in Jammu. During this public meeting, he fiercely targeted the current President's rule including the Modi government at the Center. During this, he also talked about the status of Union Territory of the state.

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi said that the central government has taken away the rights of the state. He said, "The biggest issue is the issue of your statehood, there is no bigger issue than that. They have taken away your rights. The Congress party will give you full support. We will do our best to restore your statehood."

Mega rally to be held in Srinagar on January 30

The yatra will remain in the Jammu region for more than a week. The yatra will enter the Valley on January 27 through the Jawahar Tunnel on the Srinagar-Jammu National Highway. From January 27, the yatra will travel to different parts on its way to Srinagar. A mega rally will be organized at the Sher-e-Kashmir Cricket Stadium in Srinagar on January 30 to mark the culmination of the yatra that started from Kanyakumari in Tamil Nadu on September 7.
