A landslide has occurred on the Mata Vaishno Devi road near Ardhkuwari in Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir. 6 passengers are said to be seriously injured in the accident. 3-4 deaths also occurred due to cloudburst in Doda due to heavy rains. Yatras have been stopped, the administration is on high alert.

Jammu-Kashmir News: A major accident has occurred on the Mata Vaishno Devi temple road in Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir. The landslide near Indraprastha Bhojanalaya near Ardhkuwari has spread panic in the area. The Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board confirmed the incident on its official X handle and said that rescue operations are going on in full swing. Many pilgrims are feared injured in this accident, and the journey has been stopped with immediate effect.

Location and condition of the landslide

The Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board said in its statement, "A landslide has occurred near Indraprastha Bhojanalaya located at Ardhkuwari. Some people are feared injured. Rescue operations are underway with necessary manpower and machinery. Jai Mata Di." According to preliminary information, 12 to 15 pilgrims were present at the spot at that time, out of which 6 have suffered serious injuries. The injured are being provided medical assistance immediately.

Situation critical due to cloudburst in Doda

The situation has become even more complicated due to heavy rains in Jammu and Kashmir. The cloudburst incident in Doda district has caused devastation in many areas. There have been reports of 3 to 4 people dying due to landslides. All major rivers and streams in Jammu division are flowing close to or above the danger mark. Due to this, the movement of vehicles on Jammu-Srinagar National Highway has been completely stopped.

Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has directed the administration to remain on high alert and take immediate action in the affected areas. The administration is engaged in relief and rescue operations.

Traffic and communication services disrupted

The traffic system in Jammu has been badly affected due to heavy rains and landslides. Northern Railway has cancelled more than 10 passenger train services keeping in mind passenger safety. General Manager Northern Railway and Divisional Railway Manager Jammu are monitoring the situation in Pathankot with their technical team. Apart from this, there is also news of network down in Jammu and Kashmir, due to which people are not able to use internet and calling facilities.

Administration's action and appeal to the public

The administration has appealed to the people to avoid traveling in danger areas and follow the instructions of local authorities. Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board and other relief teams are working continuously to control the situation and assist the affected people.
