If you have visited Mata Vaishno Devi then you would know that without the travel slip, devotees are not allowed to enter Banganga. That is, the first stop of your journey is to enter from Banganga by taking the travel slip. But in the coming time you will not get travel slip to visit. Yes, Shrine Board is working on new technology instead of travel slip. After the implementation of new technology, the tradition of travel slip which has been going on for 60 years will end.

New system will start from August

In fact, after the accident on the building on January 1, 2022, various steps are being taken by the Shrine Board for the safety of the passengers. Among them, instead of the passenger slip, the new technology Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) service is also one. The new RFID service has been made mandatory from August. That is, if you go for darshan from next month, then you will not need to take passenger slip.

What is RFID Card?

The RFID card is fully chipped, which will be connected with the server. A dedicated control room has also been set up for this. Complete information will be given in the card along with the photo of the devotee. The RFID card will be received from the Yatra Registration Counter of the Shrine Board before starting the Yatra. After the completion of the journey, this card will have to be returned to the devotee. This card can be used multiple times like a metro token.

The card will have to be returned after darshan

The cost of an RFID is Rs.10. But it will be given free of cost to the devotees by the Shrine Board. The Shrine Board itself will bear the cost. Shrine Board has given tender for RFID card to a Pune based company. If you register online, on reaching Katra, you will get a message on your phone that at what time, at which counter you have to take the RFID card. Wireless Fidelity facility is being developed for this.

When did the travel slip started?

For the first time in 1962, the Information Department had started the system of travel slips for the devotees. In 1970, the tourism department took over the responsibility of travel slip. After the formation of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board in 1986, the responsibility of travel slip was taken over by the Shrine Board. Now the RFID card system is being implemented by closing this facility.
