Japan PM Fumio Kishida arrives in Delhi / Will meet PM Modi today, will be on Ukraine crisis

Japan's Prime Minister Fumio Kishida has reached New Delhi, the capital of India, on Saturday. Here he will attend the 14th India-Japan summit and will meet his counterpart PM Narendra Modi. There will be a meeting between the two Prime Ministers at Hyderabad House in Delhi at 5 pm. During the meeting, many issues including Ukraine crisis, China and investment are likely to be discussed. During this, both the countries can discuss on increasing economic cooperation as well as talks on the Indo-Pacific region. Apart from this, joint air exercises with the Russian Air Force in the Sea of ​​Japan and sending warships in the seas of the Philippines in the Sulu Sea will also be discussed. Kishida will leave for Cambodia the next day i.e. on March 20.

It is worth noting that earlier the meeting between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the then Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe in the year 2019 was postponed due to protests against the Citizenship Amendment Act in Assam. Kishida's visit is part of that program.

India and Japan's stand on Russia differ

Let us tell you that while Japan has announced economic sanctions against Russia, India is avoiding taking sides. Even in the United Nations, India did not vote against Russia.

Large scale import-export between India and Japan

India mainly exports fabrics, iron and steel products, petroleum products, textile yarns, fabrics and machinery to Japan. On the other hand, imports include plastics, electrical machinery, iron and steel products, vehicle parts, organic chemicals and metals. From the year 2000 to 2019, Japanese investment in India has reached $ 32 billion.
