Entertainment | Dangal fame Zaira Wasim has said goodbye to films. She was last seen in 'The Sky Is Pink'. Now Zaira has given her reaction on the ongoing Hijab controversy in Karnataka. She shared a screenshot of a Facebook post on Instagram and spoke in support of Muslim women. She writes, 'The perception that hijab is a choice is misinformation. Such an assumption has been made out of convenience or ignorance. Hijab in Islam is not a choice but an obligation. Thus when a woman wears the hijab she is fulfilling a God-given obligation to the one she loves and has dedicated herself to him.

Zaira expresses displeasure

Zaira further writes that 'As a woman, I wear the hijab with gratitude and humility. I express my displeasure and protest against this whole system where women are being restrained and harassed for religious commitment. To personalize discrimination against Muslim women and to establish a system where they have to choose between education and hijab or leave it is full of injustice.

Zaira writes in the end, 'If this is not partiality with those people who are showing that they are working in their support? There is nothing worse than showing from above that all this is happening in the name of empowerment. It's quite the opposite. I am sad.
