Maulana Shahabuddin Razvi Barelvi, the National President of the All India Muslim Jamaat, has made a significant statement regarding the internal stability and security of India, while speaking in Bareilly on Friday, the prominent cleric asserted that India can never turn into a country like Nepal, Bangladesh, or Sri Lanka. His remarks come at a time when various geopolitical shifts and internal protests have sparked discussions about national security and the influence of external elements in domestic affairs, while maulana Razvi emphasized that the democratic fabric and administrative strength of India are far superior to those of the neighboring nations that have recently faced political or economic turmoil.

Demand for Investigation into Foreign Elements

During his address, Maulana Razvi raised a serious concern regarding the participation of individuals coming from abroad in domestic protests within India. He urged the government to conduct a thorough investigation into those who travel from foreign countries to join demonstrations on Indian soil. According to the Maulana, it's essential to identify the motives and backgrounds of such individuals to ensure that the sovereignty and peace of the nation aren't compromised. He stated that while protesting is a right, the involvement of foreign nationals in local agitations is a matter that requires strict governmental scrutiny.

Praise for Yogi Adityanath's Governance

The Maulana was vocal in his appreciation for the law and order situation in Uttar Pradesh under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. He claimed that during the tenure of the current BJP government, the security arrangements in the state have remained exceptionally tight. Maulana Razvi noted that except for the specific incidents in Bahraich and Sambhal, there have been no major instances of violence in Uttar Pradesh under the Yogi administration. This praise for the current government was coupled with a sharp critique of the previous Samajwadi Party government led by Akhilesh Yadav. The Maulana alleged that the law and order situation during Akhilesh Yadav's term was poor and lacked the discipline seen today.

Warning to Muslim Youth Regarding Jantar Mantar Protest

The cleric's recent statement follows his earlier appeal to the Muslim youth concerning a proposed protest at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi. He had advised young Muslims to stay away from the demonstration organized by the Cockroach Janta Party on October 10. The protest was aimed at demanding the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. The organizers of the protest had alleged irregularities in the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the electoral rolls. Maulana Razvi had expressed fears that such gatherings could lead to violence, and he urged the youth, especially those living and working in Delhi and the surrounding areas of Uttar Pradesh, to maintain their distance from the event.

Democratic Rights and the Risk of Violence

While acknowledging that holding protests is a legal and democratic right in India, Maulana Razvi cautioned that such actions shouldn't lead to public suffering. He warned that if demonstrations turn violent, it's the common people who have to face the consequences. He reiterated that his appeal to the youth was based on the apprehension of potential violence which could disrupt daily life. The Maulana's comments also touched upon the broader context of regional instability, referencing Neha Bora's remarks on how protests in Bangladesh showed a path to Gen-Z and Prashant Bhushan's statements regarding 'regime change', while by contrasting India's situation with these examples, Maulana Razvi sought to highlight the resilience of the Indian state against such disruptive trends.
